6 TESTS + 1 PLAYER CARD =
A starting point. A reason to keep going.
THEY'LL REMEMBER THE FEELING. YOU'LL UNDERSTAND THE PROGRESS
For your child, it’s the challenge of putting their abilities to the test. For you, it’s a way to understand their strengths, see what needs work and support their next step.
Compete within their age group, follow live event leaderboards and enjoy a day built around football.
Every participant receives a personal player card. Age-group champions earn a gold card, with event awards confirmed for each date.
Understand their results, start free gamified courses in the app and explore GymLive strength and conditioning to support their development.
SIX TESTS. MORE INSIGHT INTO THEIR GAME.
Short football challenges explore movement and ball skills. Each result adds detail to their profile, so there’s more to learn than an overall score.
01 - SPEED
10M Sprint
How quickly they get moving over the opening metres.
The first few steps towards a loose ball.
02 - ACCELERATION
30M Sprint
How they build speed across a longer straight-line run.
Making space and covering ground.
04 - CHANGE OF DIRECTION
5-0-5 Agility
A timed change of direction: approach, turn and accelerate away.
Slowing down and moving off again.
Testing is a snapshot of performance on the day. It helps guide development; it does not capture every part of being a footballer or predict a professional career.
"How Do I Know They're Approving"
Start with their own numbers.
Build a picture over time.
The parent portal brings their results and full reporting together. Use it to understand what they did, talk about what to practise and follow their development from test to test. Celebrate the small wins as well as the standout performances. A first score is the beginning of the story.
A PARENT’S GUIDE TO THE RESULTS

Look at the individual tests alongside the overall card score.
Choose a development focus
Use the report to discuss strengths and priorities with your child and their coach.
Return and compare
Follow results across testing dates and recognise progress in specific skills.
Children grow and develop at different rates. A leaderboard position is one part of the picture; their own development matters too.
A SCORE GIVES THEM A START. A PROGRAMME GIVES THEM DIRECTION
Make Practice Something They Want To Do
Gamified development courses give players a reason to keep learning between events. Start with the free courses and make progress part of their routine.
Turn A Development Goal Into Structured Training.
Explore S&C to support the physical side of their football. Use their testing report as a starting point for conversations about what to work on.
Free in-app courses and the S&C programme are separate offers. Check the programme page for what’s included and current pricing.
EARN YOUR SCORE. BUILD YOUR PROFILE. GET SEEN.
The GymLive scouting portal gives coaches and clubs a way to discover player profiles and performance records.
Visibility creates an opportunity to be considered. Attendance or a score does not guarantee scouting contact, an academy trial or selection. Ask the team about eligibility, profile visibility and parental consent before joining the pathway.

A LITTLE CLARITY BEFORE THE BIG DAY
Is this suitable for my child’s age and ability?
Future of Football is for players aged 8–18, competing within their age groups. The day gives each player a starting point to learn from. Check your chosen event’s age eligibility and grouping before booking. If your child needs additional support or adjustments, speak with the team about suitability in advance.
Is testing safe, and what if my child is injured or has a medical condition?
The tests involve running, turning, jumping and football skills. Suitability depends on the child and the event’s arrangements. Tell the team about an injury, medical condition or additional need before booking, and ask how supervision and adjustments will work. Testing is not medical clearance; seek advice from your child’s treating clinician if you are unsure whether they should participate.
What should we bring, how long does it take, and can I stay?
Bring football kit, water and footwear approved for your event’s playing surface. Check the booking instructions for arrival time and what else to bring. Ask the team to confirm your child’s session length and the parent or guardian attendance arrangements; the overall event schedule may be longer than their testing session.
What results will we receive, and how should we use them?
Every participant gets a personal player card, with full reporting and development tracking through the parent portal. Check the event information for delivery timing. Review the individual test results as well as the overall score, choose development priorities and compare future results. A lower score is a starting point, not a judgement on your child’s potential. Free gamified courses offer a way to keep working between events.
Who can see my child’s results, and will they be scouted?
The experience includes live leaderboards, parent reporting and a scouting pathway. Before registering, review GymLive’s privacy information and ask exactly what appears on leaderboards or player profiles, who has access and how parental permissions are handled. Scouting visibility does not guarantee contact, a trial or a place at a club.
